I only do one thing — teach guitar. That’s it. No piano lessons on the side, no drum students in the next room, no retail counter to manage. Every hour I spend goes into making my guitar instruction better and helping my students improve faster.
When you come here, you’re going to know exactly what to work on, why you’re working on it, and how to practice it at home so you actually see results between lessons. That’s not a sales pitch — that’s what 30+ years of full-time teaching has taught me matters most.
I don’t use cookie-cutter method books. I don’t hand you a chord chart and say “practice this.” I find out what you want to play, figure out what’s standing between you and that goal, and build a plan to close the gap. Every student gets something different because every student needs something different.
Lessons here run longer than what you’ll find at most music stores or studios — because real progress takes more than 30 minutes of someone showing you a few chords and sending you home.
Most of my students tell me the same thing after their first lesson: “That’s not what I expected — it was way better.” That’s because they’ve never had someone actually listen to their goals and build a plan around them.
There’s a sign on the wall when you walk in: “Welcome to where your week gets better.” That’s not just a slogan — my students genuinely look forward to coming every week. If you’re not having fun, what is the point of playing guitar? That’s why every session here is something you look forward to.
About The Instructor
Growing up in Northeast Ohio, Brian’s passion for music blossomed early. At just six years old, he received his first guitar, but it wasn’t until the age of 13 that he fully embraced it. Teaming up with a classmate who played drums, he formed his first band. Within a year, Brian was performing live—the beginning of a lifelong journey in music.
With over 35 years of live performance experience, Brian has been a part of popular rock and country acts, including Professor C Bass, Switch, Legacy Band, Back Alley Band, Dry Town, Melanie May, and Vernon Trumbull.

His musical expertise extends beyond the stage; he earned a degree from the University of Akron, where he went through their prestigious Jazz Studies Program. While Brian loves performing, teaching is where his heart truly lies.
Brian’s teaching journey began in 1994 at local music stores, and in 2001, he founded Guitar Lessons Geauga. Since then, he has dedicated himself to becoming the best guitar instructor possible. After completing college, he continued to expand his skills, delving deeply into music pedagogy and the art of guitar instruction. His commitment to excellence has set him apart: no other guitar instructor in Geauga County or Northeast Ohio matches his level of training and credentials.
Even after decades of full-time teaching, Brian’s enthusiasm for learning and growing has never waned. He’s a proud member of The Elite Guitar Teachers Inner Circle, an international community of educators committed to providing top-tier guitar instruction. His dedication has inspired countless students, some of whom have gone on to release original music and tour across the United States.
