YOUR CHILD DESERVES ONLY THE BEST GUITAR LESSONS

Looking for a positive, proven place for your child to learn guitar? You’re in the right spot. At Guitar Lessons Geauga, we don’t just teach kids how to play songs—we help them build confidence, focus, and creativity that carry over into school and every part of life.

For over 30 years, I’ve helped kids in Geauga County and Northeast Ohio not only become great guitar players, but also grow into more focused, self-disciplined, and confident young people.

Why Parents Choose Guitar Lessons Geauga

More Than Just Guitar Lessons

At Guitar Lessons Geauga, your child will learn skills that extend far beyond music. They learn:

  • To improve focus, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop persistence when faced with challenges—skills that help in school as much as on guitar.
  • To build confidence and independence that carry into every part of life.
  • To develop healthy self-discipline and a strong work ethic—all while still having fun making music.
  • The ability to set goals—and how to reach them.
  • To practice effectively so progress comes faster, and frustration disappears.
  • A genuine love for music that keeps them motivated and playing for years to come.

Studies show kids who play music often do better in school, get into better colleges, and grow into self-reliant, mature young adults.

Music also teaches kids how to face challenges without giving up. Every time they master something tricky on guitar, they gain persistence, confidence, and excitement to take on the next challenge.

Few activities give kids benefits that last a lifetime—but music does. Learning guitar is just the start—those lessons grow into confidence and life skills that last well beyond childhood

What Makes Guitar Lessons Geauga Different

Not all guitar teachers are the same. Many are great players, but very few are ever trained how to teach. Kids end up learning the wrong things in the wrong order—or worse, being forced through a one-size-fits-all method book.

The result? Kids feel bored, overwhelmed, or unchallenged—and eventually give up.

That doesn’t happen here.

My name is Brian Fish, and for over 30 years I’ve been helping kids in Geauga County and Northeast Ohio not only learn guitar, but love it. I’ve spent decades perfecting a system that:

I’m also the only guitar teacher in Geauga County with Elite Guitar Teacher Inner Circle training—an international program dedicated to mastering the art of teaching.

Not only am I a professional musician, but I also invest year-round in staying up-to-date with the most effective teaching methods. That means your child gets a proven system that works—even for kids with shorter attention spans.

With the right guidance, every child can succeed—and love the process.

Lessons Kids Actually Enjoy

Here’s the truth: if kids don’t enjoy their lessons, they quit. That’s why fun is built into everything we do. From gamified practice challenges to playing songs they love, we make sure your child actually wants to pick up the guitar.

Many of our students go on to start bands, play at church, or perform for family and friends while still young—and their love of guitar continues well into adulthood.

How Do I Know This Will Be a Good Fit for My Child?

What Parents And Kids Are Saying

Commonly Asked Questions

What type of guitar should I buy for my child?
I recommend starting with an electric guitar. Electric guitars are easier to play than acoustics, which means your child can learn faster and feel less frustrated. It’s also important to get the right size—guitars come in ¾ and full-size models, and the right fit makes a big difference in comfort and progress.

How will I know if the guitar we already own is good enough?
No problem—bring it in! I’ll be happy to take a look at your child’s guitar and let you know if it’s a solid starting instrument, if it needs a small adjustment (called a “setup,” which is common and usually done about once a year), or if upgrading would make sense. If you do need a new guitar, I’ll point you in the right direction so you don’t waste money on the wrong one.

Do we need to buy an amp right away if my child starts on electric guitar?
Not at all. An amp makes things more fun, but it isn’t required at the beginning. If you’d like one, there are affordable options like the Blackstar practice amps (around $100) that sound excellent, or even headphone amps (around $25) that are perfect for quiet practice.

What else will my child need to get started?
Every student should have:

  • Guitar picks (.88 or heavier)
  • An extra set of strings (in case one breaks)
  • A strap
  • A case or guitar stand (to keep the instrument safe and in good condition)
  • A binder (to keep lesson materials organized)

What styles of music do you teach?
I teach rock, pop, blues, country, and worship. Kids stay more motivated when they’re learning the styles they actually enjoy, so it’s important to have a teacher who knows how to teach the kind of music your child wants to play.

What ages do you teach?
I work with kids ages 10 and up—and yes, I also teach adults.
